Newt Gingrich Slams Elena Kagan – You can almost count on Newt Gingrich opposing any choice made by the President regarding the supreme court of the United States. The recent nomination of Kagan is no different, and many had guessed that the republican opposition to her nomination would be high. Following her nomination, a number of rumors lead to inquiries about Kagan’s personal life (mostly her sexuality) became one of the most searched topics on the Internet. Gingrich recently called on Obama to withdraw the nomination of Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court. He has called her views anti-military, and has said he has concerns that during her time as dean of Harvard, she had accepted funds from Saudi Arabia.

Newt Gingrich Slams Obama

April 10, 2010 by Jerry · 1 Comment

Newt Gingrich Slams Obama – Newt Gingrich, who has been rumored to be a potential candidate for the republican party in the upcoming presidential election took shots at Obama and his ideology recently. He called Obama “the most radical president in American history” during the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, which was held in New Orleans, LA. Newt Gingrich was formerly the House Speaker, and wasted no time in getting to the point when he addressed the crowd at the conference. He would go on to say that Obama and his cabinet have “thrown down the gauntlet to the American people: I own Washington and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Gingrich has always been a part of verbal scuffles with the political left. In recent years, other republican figures, such as Sarah Palin, have gained notoriety and seemingly have taken the brunt of the democrat verbal assault. Gingrich has never been one to bite his tongue, and he certainly didn’t during the recent Southern Republican Leadership Conference. Gingrich has not officially announced that he is interested in running as the republican candidate for president, but most experts have speculated that he will at least make a run during the initial primaries.

Gingrich has been relatively quiet in recent years, after being very open with his thoughts throughout the 1990’s and early 2000’s. This conference seems to be the coming out party of the old Newt, as he declared war on the political left, and, in particular, the Obama administration, an administration that has run up more debt than any President has previously in the history of the nation. The crowd reacted favorably to his comments, and many in the crowd made it clear that they felt the same way. Gingrich went on to say that a republican win in 2012 is possible, and that they should aim to dethrone Obama and his cabinet in order to cut back on spending.
