Howard Dean vs Democracy For America On Ground Zero Mosque – Construction of a Muslim cultural center near ground zero in New York has caused a split between a grassroots political organization and Howard Dean, it’s founder and former Chairman.

Democracy for America was founded in 2004 by Dean, after that year’s presidential election, and is currently over a million members strong.

Cordoba House is planned to be built near the 9/11 site, and is supported by Democracy for America. Dean, it’s former chairman and founder has spoken out against this occurring. There is still a lot of tension there between Americans and Muslims, with many still not able to forgive and or forget, on either side. Dean has called for this building to be built elsewhere.
