Michelle Obama Defends Health Insurance Reform – Yesterday, first Lady Michelle Obama ,with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius along with 100 other women attended an event to talk about the need for health insurance reform and its impact on women and families at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building,at the White House in Washington, D.C.Michelle said:
“The status quo is unacceptable. It is holding women and families back. [Women are] disproportionately affected by this issue because of the roles that we play in families. The former hospital administrator added:
“They were being crushed – crushed! – by health care.Women play a unique and increasingly significant role in our families. We know the pain, because we are the ones dealing with it.”
