Jennifer Granholm Signs Bill On Park Admission Fees – The entire Country is in a recession and the economy of every State is being affected by the current economic status. It’s no doubt that those in power will have to take extreme measures in order to raise enough money to help bring us out of the current condition that we are in. With Obama fighting hard to pass every bill he can and change things in as many ways as possible to get us moving as a more efficient and safer Country once again, he also needs some support from the people and from those in power of the States. This includes Governors who can take action to help raise money for their area of power. Now generally, parks are free in order to enter but when times are as rough as these we have to call for drastic measures sometimes.
Governor Jennifer Granholm of Michigan has signed a bill that would allow motorists to only visit the state parks if they have paid a $10 admission which can be purchase when you update your tabs on your cars. By paying the fee then state residents would become exempt from having to buy a $6 daily or $24 annual pass. A pretty hefty charge for admission to a park that was once free. People like to have the availability of walking around in their state where they choose to. Having to pay a fee in order to enter definitely takes that right away from you but kind of adds a sense of security for you and for the people who will be in the park with you. I don’t know how many criminals are going to want to pay a hefty $10 fee. The system will go into affect on October 1st, 2010.

If you don’t want to pay the fee there will be an option for that on your vehicle registration from but you will be not permitted to enter any state parks. If you try, you will likely be stopped at the gates. Park officials are hopeful this will bring more money for park upkeep.
