Health Care Vote:House Vote On Health Care Bill – Health Care Vote/House Health Care Vote information can be found here. After months of debating, endless chaotic town-hall meetings and tea parties the House of Representatives has started to vote on the health care reform legislation called the Affordable Health Care for America Act this evening. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said before the procedure began:

“Today we will pass the Affordable Health Care for America Act.. . .We will make history. We will also make progress for America’s working families.”

It appears that Pelosi has the 218 votes needed to pass the bill.

On Saturday night, November 7, 2009, Speaker Nancy Pelosi officially ended her House career, and her role as Speaker. She will be removed in 2010 in a withering election defeat, along with an inestimable number of Democrat colleagues. Her fate, and the fate of representatives who voted for this measure, is sealed. The American people will not tolerate this outrage, and the cowardice of voting on the measure on a Saturday night.

These representatives, along with Pelosi, are despicable and their political ruin is now a matter of certainty. Goodbye, Nancy, and good riddance.

      Ricky,

I hope that you are right. Unfortunately the majority of the American population is a nation that lives off of sound bites and believes anything the main stream media puts on their plate for consumption. I would challenge these lemmings who think this Bill is the end all to all the nations health problems to read the bill or better yet have a lawyer exlain it to them. Unfortunately the majority are going with the People magazine version of the Bill.

This country needs to get informed before the Senate votes. There is nothing I would like to do more than to say good-bye to Nancy “The Bufoon” Pelosi and her far lest counterparts.

    • John Linehan says:

Sorry Mr. Tripp I don’t agree at all, this is the one of the greatest days in US history! Only Democrate I won’t vote for, is the one that voted against it.

As time goes on, this reform will only get better. I for one would have rather seen the insurance companies out all together. They have taken from the public long enough. I’m sure they will survive in some form.

Think of what the costs would have been, if this reform is not inacted.

      • Ricky David Tripp says:

John Linehan and others in this thread, written late last year, have all gotten new educations with the recent Massachusetts upset. I was right all along, and this vote proved it, although Democrats and others like Linehan are spinning this in unimaginable ways. In Pelosi’s warped world, it is as if the whole process will continue with Scott Brown on board!

She has essentially told the public to go to h**l, that it will pass anyway, and plots thicken over the prospect (albeit, a nuclear one) of the House actually accepting the Senate bill as is, just to get something on Obama’s desk. If she does….oh, if she does…..there won’t be political grease left on the ground where she is standing. No one will even hire her to wash dogs for a living.

The Massachusetts voters spoke for America: THE OBAMA AGENDA IS DONE, KAPUT, FINISHED.

Sorry, John, but it didn’t go your way. Better days are ahead, I can assure you. Thanks for writing.

Contrary to your way of thinking, history was made last night. We finally voted legislators into Congress who were willing to stand up to the insider lobbyists and partisan operatives! The old formula of scare tactics did not work. The old model of DC “back-scratching” did not work. The special interest money did not work. Last night’s vote brought us closer to secure and affordable health care for Americans.

The Republicans need to listen – Change is here! The American people stood up to be counted last November and we will continue to stand together to be counted in the future! It’s the Republicans who voted against what is good for Americans who should be shaking in their shoes. The Republicans are the only outrage here – The cowards who voted against this bill! Hopefully in the coming years, we will be saying “Good-bye” to more of those who resist change. Republicans continue to think the pandering to lobbyists will work. We just proved them wrong.

I thank every Representative who voted for this health care reform bill last night is to be congratulated! They heard our voices and they took a stand! THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU!

Too bad the Republicans are still too busy licking their wounds from last November – too busy to get on board and do the right thing for Americans – too busy lining their own pockets and listening to the lobbyists and special interest groups! They are the ones who are despicable and their political ruin is now a certainty! Good bye and good riddance to them!

I totally agree. Alot of people just sunk their political career. The US will not miss Nancy Palosi. My question is why did they do this on a Saturday? Did they think no one would pay attention?

    • Seymour Glass says:

It appears to me that the crystal ball you purchased on the GOP website was made in China due to your party’s selling out of the american workforce, and therefore is giving you spotty insight into the future. See you at Starbucks.

I’m looking for the roll call for the vote on this drek legisation and will post it so that every voter knows exactly who’s responsible, and they can vote for “the other guy” next year.

Look on the bright side: This mess might have got through the House — in a squeaker vote, by the way, considering the size of the Democrat majority — but it still has a long way to go. The Senate has to pass a bill, and Reid has postponed that until possibly next year. English translation: he hasn’t got the votes.

Crap-and-tax passed the House, too, and it’s slowly rotting away, waiting to be taken up in the Senate. Here’s hoping this bloated nation-wrecking socialized medicine bill will meet the same fate. I can’t even remotely fathom how anyone — democrat, republican, whatever — could even think about inflicting this crap on the American public. And with complete disregard for the public will, I might add. Nobody wants this except Pazzo Pelosi and the Comrade in the White House.

THROW THE BUMS OUT!!! CAN’T WAIT TO GET STARTED ON THE 2010 CAMPAIGNS!! NOW IS THE TIME TO AT LEAST START GETTING ORGANIZED!!

  4. Silvia Ward says:

“The American people will not tolerate this outrage.” There are 307,885,522 Americans. They do not all agree with you. Not everyone thinks those who voted for this measure are despicable; many think they are heroes & that someone needed to take a stand on this issue.

Typing scathing, sweeping remarks doesn’t make me feel good. Looking for common ground makes me feel good. I’m hoping that even those who don’t agree with health care reform can at least agree that health care coverage should not be just for the upper middle class & wealthy. Perhaps if we start with a mutual desire to make the quality of life better for all Americans, we can actually make that happen.

I sincerely hope that viewing the passage of this bill as an outrage does not come from any irrational fears, or the belief that only those who can earn enough or have the right kind of job (& keep it) or not have a pre-existing condition that precludes them from finding an insurance option in the event of a job change are entitled to it.

God help us to make our decisions based on love for all humankind & reason, with due diligence given to finding facts, not following fears.

  5. Barbara says:

Haha! Yay! House passes health reform bill finally and Nancy Pelosi is to be congratulated for accomplishing this. Lets not forget that last year over 700,000 Americans had to file for bankruptcy because they were unable to pay their medical expenses. In fact the majority of people who file for bankruptcy are because of huge medical bills. Lets not forget that one in three children in America currently have no health insurance. This is a serious and shameful fact of life in this country of ours. This is during a period of time when insurance company profits and executive pay has increased dramatically. So hurray for health care reform. It is about time.

    • loree says:

Where are you getting your “facts” about the number of people who have declared bankruptcy because of medical bills?

  6. jben says:

The AARP’s endorsement of this Obama Health Care Plan will be very costly for that
organization. They sold their members down the river on this one.
All members should immediately call the AARP and cancel their memberships.
In addition they should request that they stop mailing the AARP magazine and other
    advertisements.

  7. Maria says:

Thank God for courageous Democrats. The American people will be the winnders in healthcare reform. It is not about getting re-elected as the Repubs think, it is about doing what is morally right. Republicans are a bunch of whiners with no leadership!

  8. Bop Berrigan says:

I don’t think you can vote out “rust buckets” like Pelosi. The best you can do is remove her from power by electing non-Democrat representatives from red and purple districts. Also, voters need to know the identity of representatives that the the trial lawyers and ABA are funding and then support their opponents.

  9. Bop Berrigan says:

Just think, if voters in the NY 23rd district had elected Doug Hoffman instead of the Democrat, the voting might have been a little closer. Does anyone know the Republican congressman from Louisiana that voted for the socialized medicine bill? He/she obviously needs to go.

  10. alita chappell says:

THANK YOU…THANK YOU…THANK YOU… to all of the brave patriots who worked so very hard to bring our great country into the 20th century. We may still be running behind our peers in other industrialized nations but this is certainly a move in the right direction.

Thank you for enduring all the kicking, screaming, infantile tantrums of the selfish minority to lay the groundwork for equalizing our nation’s footing to allow us to compete in the global economy where all other developed nations accept universal healthcare as a right and not a privilege.

And thank you for preserving our republic and restoring our faith in democracy. God bless the USA.

  11. Bruce says:

Isn’t it ironic that in the same week as we celebrate the anniversary one of the greatest moves to freedom of the wall being torn down…That WE are in the progress of moving to socialism in our country…..I think just like in the previous comment that 2010 will save our country and our freedom…They have made their bed ….God save the USA

  12. Herb Lowrey says:

The only way we will get control of the health care cost is to take the profit whores out of it. They are no different than the money changers Jesus threw out of the Temple in biblical days. Over the past five decades, they have corrupted our medical industry padding their pcokets with obsene profits. We, the people do not have a health care system that gives a damn about us, and certainly one over which we have any control whatsoever. We only have a few jewels in healthcare, like Mayo Clinic. Unfortunately, if you are not fortunate enough to have a good health insurance policy, these jewels are not accessible by you. This is not good health care for the people of this nation. This is selective health care for the rich, not the average working citizen. The money changers work very hard at controling the laws of our country to favor their goal of making more money, not for the people, but for the rich. You want to take back your health care system? Through out the money changers. That is what the vote for health care attempts to do. To be against this vote, is to be a puppet.

  13. Cindy Holmes says:

I agree with Ricky! I am making note of ALL who voted for this outrageous bill. I will be financially supporting all conservatives running against these people in 2010. They should all be shivering in their shoes! Americans have finally waked up and more will be joining this historic fight! Cap and Tax is next. We WILL take back our beloved country!!

  14. Richard Hill says:

Time , Time to get rid of these overpaid blood suckers. One , Nick Joe Rahal professes to believe in the constitution, yeh right.
I feel it’s unconstitutional to mandate we buy anything, I hope they have enough jails to accomodate the folks that just cannot pay for this crap.
MMM MMM MMM Obama lies, the country dies< MMM MMM MMM

  15. Milton Jay says:

Ricky is absolutely correct.. Sayonara to the 111th Congress. They have ended their public career.
I only hope and pray that we can return to being the USA from our (now) sojourn into being the SSA. (Socialist States of America, I’m not convinced that we are United anymore)

  16. G Swanson says:

Happy it passed. Racism rears it ugly head, yet again. It is a start…let us move on.

  17. S. Swimley says:

What people don’t get is that we are losing the great Nation we once were. You only hear Democrats this, Republicans that. It is no longer about the people of America and hasn’t been for a very long time. Sure we need Health Care Reform but why one that no one can do anything but explain bits & pieces that barely touch all that was put into this bill. If it was so good for us, why is it not something we all had available to read and than descide if it was good or not ? Why did this bill get passed when there was such an out cry by Americans that we don’t support or want THIS Bill ! Look at our school systems and the young adults. We took God out of our schools and now our kids get murdered in them. We’re taking God out of our country and look at what our country is coming too ! Americans need to take this as a wake-up call because if we don’t vote EVERYONE out of office to get a new start and our country back to where the elected represent US, work for US , and make this a country to be prowd of, we’ll just see more & more control, finances down the tubes, products that aren’t of any quality and a people that want a free handout &” US” speaking their language ! Wake up America, please ! Show that we do care and that the majority has a say, vote them ALL out in November !

Have you read any part of this new law? If so be specific as to what is wrong. Everyone screams how the law is bad. When asked to be specific ,, dead silence!!!
