Democratic Party Of Japan:Japan Election – The Liberal Democrats lead by Prime Minister Taro Aso suffered a crushing loss during Japan’s election that took place today.Democratic Party President Yukio Hatoyama and his party will take 300 or more of the 480 seats in the lower house of parliament and therefore giving the boot to the Liberal Democrats which has been more or less in power since in 1955.Hatoyama who is set to become Japan’s next prime minister said:

“At one point I thought it might be better to name some key ministers ahead of others for a smooth transition of government,” Hatoyama told a press conference after his party’s landslide victory. “But I changed my mind and now think it would be appropriate to decide on all ministers at once after parliament officially names me as prime minister.”

Aso added:

“These results are very severe .There has been a deep dissatisfaction with our party.”
