Debra Medina Glenn Beck 9/11 Truther Radio Comment
February 11, 2010 by Dylan
Debra Medina Glenn Beck 9/11 Truther Radio Comment – Glenn Beck Debra Medina interview can be found here.Glenn Beck talked to Debra Medina who is a candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2010 Texas gubernatorial election earlier today where things got a little heated. When the radio commentator asked Medina to share her opinion on the 9/11 truther movement which is a group that believes the U.S. government might have been behind the 9-11 destruction of the World Trade Center, she replied by:
“I don’t have all the evidence there, Glenn,So I’m not in a place – I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There’s some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there so I’ve not taken a position there.”

When quizzed further she added:
“I’m certainly not into mind control or thought policing people.I don’t see us having a team of radical individuals, if you will.”
When she signed off the program, Beck told his audience:
“I think I can write her off the list.Let me take another look at Kay Bailey Hutchison, if I have to. Rick, I think you I could French kiss right now.Wow, the fastest way back to four percent.”
What are your thoughts on Debra Medina?

Mr. Beck:
As you are probably aware, you have a very large following in Texas. However, your interview with Debra Medina was disconcerting.
In Texas we have huge issues looming and are very concerned with the horrendous civil war on our southern border, skyrocketing unemployment and Washington bankrupting us. Whether someone might have thoughts on the “9/11 truther” situation is beyond trivial. You showed little regard for the big issues and instead chose to focus on trying to undermine Medina’s campaign. This is ironic because she is, by far, the candidate which supports the very principles you preach about everyday.
You make a mistake to write her off so easily. We are sick of slick, entrenched politicians like Rick Perry and Kay Bailey-Hutchison. There’s no telling how many Beck-loyal Texans that, for the first time, decided you were full of it.
Beck is a uninformed media reporter that has zero background or interest in the texas Gov. Who picked this interview what a dumA*. This political race to spread disinformation, It was a predisposed question from the opponentsviewpoint to stir contorversy to suggest and infer confusion or dissention and bring 9/11 into the conversation, He was just being fecicious and biased. He does not even live in the state.
A Rick Perry supporter had a zinger in questioning off the cuff .It was intended to throw her off balance and was completly out of line. And has nothing to do with Texas political race. So sad that he would ask such a stupid question. And dishonor 9/11 victims.
Can you say dirty mudslinging politics they have begun/
Julia Cox — you hit the nail on the head and I agree with you completely! Rick Perry epitomizes arrogance and it gets worse with every term he is allowed to serve. Debra Medina speaks as a consummate patriot who encapsulates the principles that this country (and this state) were founded on.
Texas has serious concerns that the current governor has only exacerbated, much less failed to correct. Just ONE of those concerns is a deplorable transportation mess due to inexcusable fund diversions and total mismanagement, poor planning, and multiple accounting malfeasances on the part of Perry’s precious TXDOT organization which has YET to be restructured or held accountable for their screw ups. (TXDOT had a 1.1 billion dollar accounting “error” in 2007 alone which they attempted to cover up for over six months before it all hit the fan.) Perry has ignored the outcries of the public on these matters all the while turning a blind eye to the real crux of the problem. His hell bound determination to ram a poorly conceived toll road agenda down the throats of unwilling taxpayers has been a last straw for many of us. It must be construed that Perry believes taxpayers have been placed on this earth to keep feeding his bottomless trough. Kind of like King George just before the American Revolution – the people finally had enough of his foolishness as well. (I cannot imagine what could have possessed Sarah Palin to endorse Rick Perry, but she obviously has not had a true picture of what has really been going on in this state.)
Up to now, I have generally agreed with Glenn Beck and considered him a true patriot. But today he clearly sabotaged the best candidate (and hope for the future) that Texas has ever had.
So.. Beck can’t ask a qustion?
Medina is NOT a career politician and is not necessarily polished in how to best answer questions coming completely out of left field. That is one of the qualities so many Texans like about her. We just want our real problems FIXED.
Beck can ask questions, as can any journalist or media personality. It would certainly help, however, if the sort of questions get asked that focus on and are relevant to the serious issues in Texas that Debra Medina is dedicated to resolving. Rick Perry’s tentacles have been far reaching and a lot of so-called conservatives (including Sarah Palin) do not have a clue as to what has really been going on in this state and have gotten snowed. While Beck does have the right to ask any questions he wants, listeners and viewers also have the right to protest when solid, staunch conservative candidates are queried about matters that have nothing to do with the serious problems Texas has under the present governorship. It would sure be helpful if those who cannot seriously help us solve our problems would just get out of the way.
She said she doesnt have all the evidence. So …next. Really? Is this guy tied to Perry? How much money you getting for the transTexas corridor Perry? How many jobs where lost….ah…oh….ah 5%
Real facts, thats what people want. I am adding another sign for Medina to my yard!
I believe Debra Medina was dealt with unfairly, mostly be being cut off by Beck before she could digest the off the wall question and then respond. I like alot of Americans, do believe that some folks in our governmen, though not directly involved, may have turned a blind eye to the plot in order to usher in some military action (i.e. Pearl Harbor). Some power brokers in our government have wanted a presence in the mid east for decades. Maybe this should be, but will never be, looked into and maybe this is what she may have thought of, off the cuff. We Americans can believe Germany had an Adolf, Russia had a Stalin and China had a Mao, but never, never could an American be so evil. Right…..
Paul
The interview was a hot piece from the start. Glenn’s agenda was clear as he was plugging Perry right before the interview. Granted Debra could have been more concise in her answer, she is still the best candidate in the running. Too bad Beck acted in such a manner. He is no friend of liberty.
Side note: Glenn always likes to point the finger at progressives and marxists while promoting Neocons (Palin, Perry, etc). He must surely realize that the neo-conservative movement has it’s roots in Bolshevik Leninist Marxism via Leonn Trotsky.

Wow… Look I liked Mdeina but seriously, after 9 plus years she still doesn’t have all the facts? I watched the History Channels debunking of these truthers 5 years ago.
.
Listen I have a friend of mine that revelaed himslef to be a truther… I don’t talk to him anymore.
.
We saw DMs true colors and you want to shoot the interviewer but not the person who gave the answer.
“Listen I have a friend of mine that revelaed himslef to be a truther… I don’t talk to him anymore.”
Really? That’s rather sad. I have a` friend who thinks drinking beer will cure the cold, I disagree, we still talk.
But if the History channel says so…
Wow…You are all in left field!
#1: @qvcc: You must have never been a friend to them or you have no idea what friendship is!
#2: I bet you all believe that World Trade Center #7 (which fell at “Free-Fall” speed) just decided to collapse in on itself from those little fires that were burning.
#3: How can people get burned in the basement (3 stories down) when the plane hit the upper floors?
#4: 3000 people were murdered and in any “normal” investigation you need evidence to prosecute?…….Sorry, all evidence is gone shipped overseas and destroyed. Basically 3000 people will not have the same investigation that someone that steals a candy bar gets. I believe 3000 family’s have a right for an investigation.
Don’t take my word for it. Look it up and listen to those Firefighters that say (on live TV) that there were a lot of secondary explosions going off.
“Do your OWN research” Don’t believe ANYONE but YOU!!!
David.
And now, I agree with you! I am a truther, but that doesn’t mean I agree with what Glenn Beck did. As a matter of fact “I do NOT agree with it!” You need to elect someone for what they have done (or doing) and “NOT” what they may believe. It was wrong and unjust!
David
This proves Glenn Beck is a fraudster posing as a “libertarian”. He tried to do the same thing to Ron Paul also.
The litmus test is easy: can the so called pro-liberty candidate or media type 1)At least consider monetary reform of the fraudulent Federal Reserve system? and 2)Would they be willing to rethink the constant warmongering, imperialistic foreign policy that has gotten us in more debt and nowhere fast?
If not: they are anti-liberty no matter what they say, and don’t fall for the limited government, reform of DC nonsense they spout! Glenn is a neocon and so is Palin when you get right down to it!
I was also disappointed by the interview. The reason I was dissapointed was because I was actually hoping to have someone else to evaluate for the Republican primary (I am a Texas resident). I do not agree with Hutchinson enough for her to trump Perry in my mind, and all that would be is swapping one career politician for another. I have serious issues with Perry’s Trans-Texas Corridor efforts, as well as the forced HPV vaccination effort. But overall, I am fairly happy with him. I was delighted to hear of a new person on the scene in Debra Medina with truly conservative values. In fact, one of the aspects of her that was spoken of negatively was that she has not been in politics long enough to be known – something I view as a positive. I was on the edge of my seat at work when Glenn Beck announced her on his show, because I wanted to know more about her. Beck did not attack her. He interviewed her the way he interviews everyone else. I understand that some people on here are Medina supporters and are issuing their frustrations, but if a big time liberal would have danced around the same question (insert Barney Frank, Pelosi, Reed, etc. here), everyone on here defending her would have drawn the same conclusion that Beck, and I did – she believes there is a possibility that the government was behind 9/11. I do not want someone who thinks that to be my governor. I know she has other good ideas and policies etc., but there is something fundamentally wrong with a person who believes that. What frustrated me to a further point was how she answered the question. She sounded like every other politician that doesn’t have enough of a spine to stand by what they believe. If Beck asks, “Would you disavow anyone on your staff that was a 9/11 truther?”, she could have said “No”, or “I don’t think their stance on that would affect their ability to advise my campaign”. But she starts with this “We have a diverse group…” crap and “I don’t thought police people..” garbage. Spoken like a true weasel. You not affiliating yourself with a truther is not thought policing – they are a reflection of you as they are part of your campaign. Truly dissapointing. Oh well, enjoy another 4 years, Rick.
What is a truther? Is waving a sign and yelling into a megaphone? Or is it just having questions? People are beginning to get a little dangerous on the distinction of what makes a truther. The net is getting wider and wider on people that need to be disavowed and some are even calling for violent action against people who simply ask a question. People really need to wake up as to where we and our country are headed. No one is even allowed to ask a question anymore? This is even more frightening to me than the so called “truthers”. Some are even calling for anyone who questions the government to be charged under the patriot act!!! America, I fear for us!!!!
I lost all respect for Beck and his interview with Debra Medina. What a hatchet job. Between him and Palin it makes me want to vote Medina even more. Perry will not get my vote. Barbara
Medina is clearly not ready for prime time. I’m a Tea Party participant but I wouldn’t “fall in love” with the first candidate who comes along saying the “right” words (constitution, etc.) Take your time to find out who these people are and don’t just react to the incumbents. I must say, however, that I”m SICK of the Kay/Rick ads….they’re so full of half=truths. Nothing like conservatives trying to “out-conservative” each other!!!
Glenn,
How can you infer any 9/11 data or lack of into the rhetoric of the Texas GOV race and dishonor fallen heros of the tragedy!!!!
Perry and KBH are thankful for your actions to undermine their competitor.
Your lack of intelligent homework or background in the Texas Gov race only shows your support for the incumbent or KBH political machines
If the status quo prevails we will be in line with CA for bankruptcy on jan 1 2011 ,17 billion dollar deficit
This political race to spread disinformation is evident from Perry and KBH of half truths and stifle competition, Was this 9/11 question ment to undermine any chance our state has at a chance of honest reform?
The good ol boys control the Texas legislature and we have no say ever just the power brokers and lobbyists
The predisposed question from the opponents viewpoint to stir controversy, to suggest and infer confusion or dissention and bring 9/11 truthers BS into the conversation, Glen, You were just being biased and being an evil doer .
Do you reside in the state of texas?
A Rick Perry campaign worker gloated in this questioning
And has nothing to do with Texas political race. So sad and such a stupid question.
And a dishonor 9/11 victims.
Glen, Can you say dirty mudslinging politics they have begun with your actions
Your question shows your preferential verbal endorsements and a bias by your comments.
Please recant your thoughts/Duh!!
We might have hope at a political change but not from your camp .
Glenn has lost a lot of credibility amongst conservative Texans today. It was awfully fishy from the very start with his sharp tone, and when Medina explained her rationale on consumption tax to offset property tax, he dug in with…… old 9/11 consipiracy theory? C’mon! WHAT THE BECK?
Medina stands for less government intervention, less spending, state sovereignty, and can recite the Constitution from memory. Her issues are right on target with what Beck barks on and on about. So why did he come out of left field with an irrelant issue to attack her on? Well, the immature response in the end and whole interview made me feel their was more of an emotional tie to Perry than what Beck professed. A neutral interview about today’s relevant issues was not his agenda. Strange,. strange interview. Strange how the metroplex started dropping Perry flyers on this interview within an hour of the show’s end. Somebody was prepared. Perry has a lot of people in has pocket. Somebody staged a setup. You have finally showed your true colors Beck, and they are not Red, White and Blue. Nice try Beck. I am door knocking this weekend to elicit support for the true conservative American who is NOT a career politician or a career celebrity pushing a hidden agenda with a false front. PLEASE READ HER STATEMENT ON THIS INTERVIEW AT MEDINAFORTEXAS.COM (It makes more sense than what Beck did today).
“The interview was a hot piece from the start. Glenn’s agenda was clear as he was plugging Perry right before the interview”
Glenn was originally going to support Medina. He’s a big supporter of the tea party movement and anti-establishment candidates.
However he, as with most tea party supporters, are NOT truthers. And yes, this does matter. Just like it was unacceptable to have a communist (Van Jones) in the whitehouse, it is unacceptable to have a truther as a governor. Medina will never win now – which I am fine with. Governor Perry has done a terrific job in my state and our economy is the strongest in the nation. Why replace him?
I can’t believe all of you. I think he actually wanted her to do well. He was as disappointed as the rest of us when she answered the question the way she did. Unbelievable she could hint that the government had something to do with it. Anyone who thinks that a crazy conspiracy theory about our government being involved in 9/11 is not a rational person and should be looked at very hard! If he had emails saying she was a “truther” he appropriately gave her the opportunity to answer the question as he should have! Her answer is her own fault not Glenn’s. Wake up people! Do you want interviewers to ignore stuff or do you want to be fully informed?!
This was a setup big time. I was was on the Glenn Beck show with the 9/12 moms and I know first hand that when Glenn Beck discredits people at will. If you don’t do things his way he totally dismisses you. His actions today were so unprofessional and childish. I will support Debra Medina all the way to the Austin State Capitol. Because that is where she will be in November.
Glenn,
your treatment of Debra Medina did more harm to your credibility than to hers.
i was so disappointed in your treatment of her – she is a citizen candidate – an individual that has stepped up to the plate to offer her services to the great state of Texas, the very thing that i understood you endorsed. TTC,etc. is much more of a threat to Texas along with the growth of state gov’t. and property taxes than some off the wall question about “truthers”
hope you have already received your judas silver from rick. we will be working hard for Debra’s election.
c
beck isn’t a judas because beck has never been on the side of truth from the beginning. beck is a shill and obviously supported perry from the start, just as his crush palin has come out for perry. But, really, beck has only the amount of power you allow him to have–he’s been seen for the clown that he is.
Interesting that Rick Perry has recommended Cleon Skousen’s “5000 year leap”- also Glenn Beck’s favorite book! They must be buddies!
This was contrived. Glenn, if you push the Mormon card too hard, you have as much credibility as Joseph Smith. I feel sorry for Debra Medina- she didn’t make it into the good ol’ boy network.
Did you even bother to listen to his question? He said do you “think” the government was involved, not can you prove the government did it. What he asked for was an opinion not could she provide definitive proof. Her answer was perfectly fine if he wasn’t asking for her opinion. Let’s be honest everyone has an opinion on everything and pretty much will give it freely unless they are trying to hide something. Here is some advice, answer the question. It’s a simple yes or no, it does matter which just does try to dance around it.
I’ve also heard that the question caught her off guard. If it was something obscure about trade with Bolivia then yes, but the question was about 9/11. That has become ingrained in every Americans soul as much as the belief in God.
The last thing the TEA party movement needs it for its critics to have definitive proof that it’s full of crazies or just the same old politicians, and she provides that for them. I’m not worried about what the critics think, they will always be that, but it gives them propaganda to spread that will keep others who may be interested in seeing the light from following the movement.
I was a supporter but she blew it by trying to be a politician instead of the genuine common person she was claiming to be.

Medina responds to Beck Interview
Beck lied from the start of the interview by saying he didn’t know who she was. Obviously by the line of questions beck asked, he had an agenda. Beck has accused the Obama admistration of every crime imaginable whether it could be proven or not– but somehow beck’s’s set up a 9/11 litmus test. Beck is no arbiter of truth. He’ an uneducated, former drug addict that has somehow made his way into the mainstream, but as a fool. Beck has shown himself to be a hypocrite and neocon shill.
. Beck is constantly wrailing against Obama, but everyone has to buy into the 9/11 cover story without question? I don’t think so.
This is America, we can have questions about our govt and their actions and still hold political office. Beck is foolish–and Medina will win, god willing.
honestly, this was not a ’setup’ or a ‘difficult question’. Anyone PO’d about Beck asking her this question should be madder at her, she blew it plain and simple.
The Medina supporters are just as bad as those who blindly follow Obama no matter what questions are raised about his policies. Let’s call it for what it is. You thought Beck was “one of you” but truth is he’s holding BOTH parties responsible and that makes you angry. I don’t agree with Beck on everything but I heard the audio and his statements. He clearly doesn’t support Perry or Hutchison and to say that is just ludicrous. I’m glad he’s holding everyone to the fire. The Democrats, the established Republicans, and people who claim to be a part of the Tea Party movement. I want to be informed not blindly follow some smoozer that says all the right things. He asked a straight forward question that a teenager could answer clearly and she danced around it. I don’t want fringe lefties in office and I don’t want these fringe righties in either. I want people of sound mind and judgement who honor the constitution and don’t give any credence to crazy conspiracy theories.
What is he holding her accountable for? What does this have to do with her politics? She simply isn’t against further investigation of the most horrific thing to happen in this country and doesn’t totally discount those who lost family and friends in this act. She apparently isn’t a blind follower of our government. Remember, the same government that was telling you the economy was perfectly healthy just weeks before the real estate bubble burst while at the same time we had a 20 to 50 trillion dollar debt. The same government that said we were going into Iraq to get rid of Saddam because he had weapons of mass destruction, not to stay there and occupy until the streets of Baghdad are totally safe and the country is “safe for Democracy”. The same government that is trying to tax you for global cooling while they can’t even get to venue because of snow. If Beck had a valid question about her politics, I would be listening intently. So who is the blind follower?
Beck is a tyrant that stiffles thought. He fills his shows with huge amounts of politically tasteful facts about the usurper Obama. Then he prevents any discourse on subjects that no one, not even he, can absolutely determine one way or another, because discussion is completely muffled or discouraged through the use of broad-based accusations that supposedly identify a person, as something they may not be at all, just because the person exercises his/her free speech in the form of legitimate questions.
Where did Beck get all the information he automatically accepted as unadulterated fact to be so stubborn that his view of 911 is the absolute truth on the matter? How can anyone claim to “know the absolute truth” about any event if legitimate questions, that can’t be directly and thoughtfully answered by anyone, can’t be asked, by anyone?
911. When I read about the Israeli shipping company that moved out of the World Trade Center weeks earlier, breaking a 99-year lease, paying a $50K penalty to do so, and then seeing the welcoming proclamation by then-governor Gilmore for that same company into Virginia’s enterprise zone, that, coupled with the five Israeli agents that were arrested right after the attack by the police across the bay from the towers, after a housewife called the police based upon their strange behavior on top of a white van during the attack, and then the five were deported a day or so later and all information about them and their arrest was of “national security interest” informaiton that was sealed, I knew there had to be more to 911 than the official story.
Plus, an acquaitence was a past traffic controller for the military during his career. According to that person it would have been next to impossible for those planes to be flying around for over 15 minutes without the scrambling of fighters to intercept them. To me, it seems awful similar to a modern day Pearl Harbor scenario without doubt. Just don’t ask any questions, because questions automatically make you a “conspiracy theorist,” that is, in Beck’s view, a “nut.”
How could anyone determne what the truth is about any of these events, like Waco, 911, etc., when the aftermath evidence is immediately destroyed or covered up, if not sooner, and is buried or used to make a new ship for the Navy? Who shot Kennedy? Does anyone really know today? NO. But, anyone who ever shot an animal with a high powered rifle knows that plenty of guts, like those in the picture of Kennedy’s head on the operating room table, hang out from the exit wound of the bullet, not the entrance hole. I still, to this day, have not seen anything but distinct holes where bullets have entered bodies, and gaping holes and guts hanging out of the large irregular exit wound.
The problem we have today is that the “foxes and their co-conspirators are guarding the hen house,” for their own benefit, not our collective benefit or welfare as a nation.
sarah palin is a 9/11 truther as well, so why is glenn beck attacking medina, he is a phoney
watch the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQpn0aR8kl0 it proves palin is a 9/11 truther
