Gavin Newsom California Governor Race Exit
October 30, 2009 by Dylan · Leave a Comment
Gavin Newsom California Governor Race Exit – Gavin Newsom announced earlier today that he is no longer interested in seeking the highest office in the great state of California. The Mayor of San Francisco who was the only official Democratic candidate thus far for governor of California race that will be held next year said that he was withdrawing from the race due to lack of time and added:
“With a young family and responsibilities at City Hall, I have found it impossible to commit the time required to complete this effort the way it needs to — and should — be done. This is not an easy decision. But it is one made with the best intentions for my wife, my daughter, the residents of the city and county of San Francisco, and California Democrats.”
But the truth appears to be that Mr. Newsom is short on cash and endorsements and the rising popularity of former Gov. Jerry Brown, who has yet to announce his candidacy is not helping him neither.
