Bill Clinton Advice To Democratic Incumbents – Bill Clinton knows what it takes to take control of your own political future. At one point, he too was considered to be the underdog in his party during the general election. He would go on to be elected the President of the United States. So, when Bill Clinton has something to say to democrats -they listen, because he knows what he is talking about.
“Never give up,” he said to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and a handful of other Democrats who have been beaten down by the recent primaries.
Clinton has always had a great mind for politics, and told them that getting down on themselves will only make for a more swift end to their political career. He was able to secure two terms of his own during his time in office, and made it through one of the largest scandals in the history of the White House.

He also advised them to not listen to political consultants who steer them away from discussing their records publicly. Jon Corzine reportedly followed that same advice, and was quickly ousted from the New Jersey Governor’s office last year.
He advised them to tell the people they represent what they are currently doing, what they’ve done, and what they plan to do to make things better.
“I think you have to tell people you know why they are mad and you know why they are frustrated but the question is, What is the most productive thing to do with it?,” he asked out lout during his time sitting with other democratic leaders.

He said that while incumbents have a notoriously hard job this time around, he believes that they still have the upper hand, if they are able to deliver their message in the right way in order to change the views of those who are looking to go in a different direction.
