Attorney General Eric Holder:’Torture Investigation Likely’
July 13, 2009 by Dylan
In a very bold move Attorney General Eric Holder has revealed that he is seriously considering to appoint a prosecutor to investigate the Bush administration’s interrogation practices and therefore go against the wishes of President Obama.Holder wants a criminal investigation into the Bush administration’s harsh interrogation practices used on suspected terrorists.Justice Department spokesman Matt Miller told The Associated Press:
“We have made no decisions on investigations or prosecutions, including whether to appoint a prosecutor to conduct further inquiry. As the attorney general has made clear, it would be unfair to prosecute any official who acted in good faith based on legal guidance from the Justice Department.”
But it is very unlikely that former president Bush will ever be prosecuted.
